Our Jeremiah House ministry has several different facets. It began years ago when God chose someone in the neighborhood with a heart for children to begin to meet their needs. When that became too much of a burden for her, she called on Bethel, her church family to help her. Several answered that call and out of that a ministry was born. At first it was just feeding kids. It soon grew into having Bible study with the kids and feeding others in the area. That all started in 1997 and next year the Jeremiah House will celebrate 20 years of ministry.
Children’s Bible Study
Tuesday evenings during the school year we have worship time, bible study and dinner with kids ages 4 yrs old through 5th grade.
Youth Bible Study
Many of our children have grown up coming to the Jeremiah House. We also have Bible study for 6th grade-high school.
Free Dinner
Anyone who wishes to may eat with us that evening and an adult will be on hand to share with you the reason of the hope they have within them. We would love to share with our excitement about the gospel.
Food Pantry
Once a month we give out food boxes from our food pantry. You will be asked to fill out some paperwork for your first time. Once you are registered, it is easy to come collect a food box. Food boxes are delivered on the fourth Tuesday of every month.
We benefit from several partnerships throughout the Jeremiah House. Several other churches in the Scottsbluff/Gering area come and provide meals one Tuesday a month. We are thankful for Plymouth Congregational Church, First Assembly Church of God and also Bethel’s members for providing the meals each Tuesday. Another partnership we enjoy is the one with Frontier School of the Bible. Several of their students come to help with Bible study and other aspects of our evening. We count on them so much and this gives them the opportunity to exercise their ministry muscle. If you are interested in partnering with Bethel through the ministry of the Jeremiah House, please contact Pastor Brandon.
